Research
My primary research interest lies in the area of the design and evaluation of health education programs, particularly those directed toward sexual-risk reduction.  I am also interested in the effects of advertising and messages on health-related behaviors and on the intersection of health and human rights.  I have conducted a handheld computer-based intervention with people living with HIV, and am interested in further pursuing multilevel modeling and ecological momentary assessment methodologies.  For CHCM, I am conducting a meta-analysis of tailored health interventions and designing a database of effective health interventions.

Research
My research focuses on health communication from media and interpersonal perspectives.  I am particularly interested in media portrayals of women's health issues (i.e. HPV, STIs, pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding).  I am currently collecting data on young adult safe-sex behaviors by conducting focus groups and personal interviews for CHCM's video game project.

Research
My research focuses on health disparities, especially among minority adolescents and women. I am particularly interested in the rise of HIV infection rates among African American women. Currently, I am working on CHCM's video game project - a project to develop a safer-sex video game aimed at emerging adults (aged 18-26) who reside in urban settings.  My work involves conducting qualitative interviews and performing data analysis of several side studies that will help with development of the game.
